Georgia K9's trailing harnesses were designed for long range trailing/ tracking work.  This design was created to put all of the pressure across the broadest amount of surface area of the K9's chest without restricting or constricting the legs or neck of the dog. The D ring rides high between the shoulder blades to ensure that the harness does not fall to either side of the dog while in motion. This simple yet functional design helps to keep the lead out from between the dog's legs.

Jeff Schettler created the leather prototype for this harness and has used it on his own dogs since 1995. 

Georgia K9 Trailing Harnesses are completely adjustable and normally fit K9s from 45-65 lbs. (Medium Size) and 70-115 lbs. (Large Size).   As with all handmade products, every item is unique.  Stitching and color will always vary slightly. Primary Color is black.

Chest sizes are the best way to configure your harness size. Measure with a soft tape or string around the broadest point of the chest.

Large Harness: 32 to 45" Circumference. 

Small Harness: 31 to 40" Circumference.

Mini Harness: We designed this as a transition harness for puppies to young adults. It is perfect for GSD and hound pups who are 16-20 weeks old. It is also a perfect harness for Bavarian Hounds, Beagles, Dachshunds, and other small dogs who need a harness to pull into that fits well!

This nylon version of the leather classic comes with a hook and loop pad on the chest plate for easy placement of department or unit patches. When you receive your harness, it will come with a Tao of Trailing patch included. The inside of the chest pad is neoprene, used on commercial horse harnesses. **The mini version has no neoprene, no patch due to size, and no felt pad to reduce weight.**
